Hello!
I'm an assistant professor and graduate program coordinator in the Department of Advertising + Public Relations, and I direct the Office for Excellence in Science and Risk Communication Management at The University of Alabama.
My research examines processes, effects, and problems associated with the public communication of science and environmental risk information. Most often I employ quantitative (experimental, content analysis, and survey) and qualitative (interviews and focus groups) empirical research methods to understand: (1) how organizations communicate about science and environmental risks, and (2) the effects of science/environmental risk communication strategies on audiences.
I teach courses in public relations, media and communication, and environmental, science, and risk communication. |
